Stuart Norman - Graphic Designer
Hello, I'm Stuart Norman

I'm a young Graphic Designer and a freelance Web Designer living in Auckland, New Zealand.

I have 3 years and counting of experience in Graphic Design and 2 years of experience in Web Design.

I have many strengths, but I take a particular interest in Web Design. I have therefore created this website, as a personal online Portfolio and it also serves as a practice piece to gain more skills.

Please take a look at my many projects, that I've designed over the years, and take a gander at the few designs I consider to be "Top Designs".

Top Designs

Hidden Alphabet

Graphic Design course project #1

The brief was to find and photograph natural forms and man-made objects that resemble letters of the Alphabet, modify them in Photoshop to make them more appealing and create two compositions.

The original brief is shown to the right and can be downloaded for anyone wishing to have a go.

My final compositions, Natural and Man-made Hidden Alphabet are to the right.

Type As Image

Graphic Design course project #2

The brief was to use letterform templates with different sizes and fonts at randomised positions to create 3 different designs on paper. Then colour the letters in one colour and the background in another. And finally choose the best design to recreate digitally.

The original brief is shown to the right and can be downloaded for anyone wishing to have a go.

My primary designs are shown on the right, along with my final design.

Face Dances

Graphic Design course project #4

The brief was to photograph your own face, and experiment with different traditional artistic techniques (such as coloured pencils) and also digital Photoshop/Illustrator techniques, to get different outcomes of the same photo. Then produce a square layout with 16 of the face techniques, creating a similar look to the WHO: Face Dances album cover.

The original brief is shown to the right and can be downloaded for anyone wishing to have a go.

Musee De Sphere

Graphic Design course project #9

The brief was an introduction to 3D Animation and asked to create an original 3D National Art Gallery as part of modern architecture and animate it as a virtual tour.

In the first couple of weeks the class were taught the basics of the 3D modelling software SketchUp. In which time I produced a few practice pieces.
